The CRC 1116 and IRTG 1902 are hosting a screening of  “Picture a Scientist” on Thursday 25. November 2021 at 16:30 – 18:30 h at the Metropol-Kino, Brunnenstr. 20, 40223 Düsseldorf. The film will be shown in English with German subtitles. The “3G Regel” applies.

About the film:

"Picture A Scientist" tells the stories of three women scientists, revealing the systemic and structural nature of gender discrimination and harassment in academic science. The film shows how sexism and racism shape women's experiences and how implicit biases constantly create inequality, yet are difficult to track down in concrete terms. And it reminds us of the power of collective action; of the scope of social inequality; and of the importance of allies and advocates, especially in academic and university structures.
