The IRTG 1902 and the CRC 1116 hosted a screening of the film “Picture a Scientist” at the Metropol-Movie theatre in Düsseldorf on November 25, 2021.

After a great introduction from our Medical Faculty Equal Opportunities Officer, Dr. Chantal Marazia, we got to know the career paths of three scientists: Prof. Nancy Hopkins, Prof. Raychelle Burks and Prof. Jane Willenbring. All three described their personal experiences that led them to take action against existing discriminatory behavior and rules at Universities. We hope that this film will help to keep the discussion about gender and diversity alive and to rethink our own unconscious biases!
