On August 6, 2020, Marcel Buchholzer successfully defended his doctoral thesis “Molecular Mechanisms of RASopathy-associated Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy”.  Marcel has been with the IRTG since 2016 completing his doctoral work in the laboratory of Prof. Reza Ahmadian, Institute of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology II. 

During his time with the IRTG 1902 he also spent 4 months on exchange in the collaborating laboratory of Prof. Matthew Wolf, Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, University of Virginia (Charlottesville, USA).

Marcel has been an active member of the IRTG 1902 taking on the role of Doctoral Student Speaker and leading the Content Group for the PhD student organized Cardiovascular Disease Symposium of the IRTG 1902 and SFB 1116  in 2018.
