Although Mina has been working since May in the Department of Experimental Nephrology in his new role as Postdoc with an IRTG 1902 Start Up Funding grant he was not yet able to call himself “Dr.”.  He was waiting for his PhD defense, which was scheduled for September 24, 2020.  We are now pleased to report that Mina Yakoub is now Dr. Mina Yakoub!  Mina’s doctoral thesis “Effect of short chain fatty acids and sodium chloride on immune cell-mediated cardiovascular health” was supervised by Dr. Johannes Stegbauer, Department of Experimental Nephrology, University Hospital of Düsseldorf.  Mina also enjoyed a six month exchange in the Laboratory of Prof. Dr. Gorav Ailawadi, Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Institute, University of Virginia, USA during his time with the IRTG 1902.  Congratulations Mina!
